The pumpkin king is gone

The year changes so fast, my favourite season is almost over and winter’s icy fingers have been felt raking his dead nails across the flesh of the land, but have no fear. .. no scratch that, DO have fear, have lots of fear for the darkest nights are descending on us as the hoar frost chatters its crackling teeth, the icy winds howl across the low moon and the earth is enshrouded with white linen giving everything a cadaverous appearance;  I’d say enjoy the fear that this season brings, locking your doors and windows won’t stop it, you can’t lock the darkness outside. I say if you can’t beat it, revel in it, hide yourself away with a good book and transport yourself away to a place where the real fear is. ..Tales of the Mysterious and Macabre
